It’s the middle of December, definitely time to start thinking about your 2016 blogging plan. Mine is already getting in motion.
There are a few ways to do this. When you hire a freelance blogger, you could ask him or her to do it all for you; come up with new ideas and help you get the right topics around the right dates. But what if you want to do it yourself? What if you want to get the initial plan outlined for your blogger for hire?
Here are three tips to get your 2016 blogging plan in motion right now.
Get a Book Just for It
I got my 2016 diary back in October. Yes, all the way back then! To be honest, I was just being super organized and I was in the right place at the right time. I usually buy it around about now.
You need a book just for your blogging plan next year. This will give you the chance to think about dates to write and any events that you need to plan ahead for.
For example, if you’re launching a new product, you’ll need to blog in the weeks and possibly months before it to drum up interest and excitement. Just one post a week for a month could be enough, and then do three or four in the week or two just before it.
Getting your book just for your 2016 blogging plan will just help you get organized. You’ll keep your specific ideas away from your emergency idea bank.
Take Some Time to Think It All Out
What do you have coming up? It’s worth thinking about what you have planned for next year.
This doesn’t mean you have to have all 12 months booked up with blog posts! I do recommend getting the first couple of months done, though. January and February tend to be the busiest for blogs, because people can’t spend as much money on the items they want. Retail businesses tend to do the best financially because of sales and people receiving Christmas money.
Take some time to think of any planned launches, sales or special products you have. Think about the national days or anything that stands out for your business.
You can then create a list of blog posts surrounding these special events and days, and then add them into your diary.
Discuss With Your Blogger for Hire
Those who do hire a freelance blogger will find some benefit here. Bloggers will have a good idea about types of blog posts that do well at the start of the year. They’ll also know all about planning ahead with a blog.
It’s worth spending some time now discussing things with your blogger. Find out what he or she does and how that can help you. Find out if he or she is willing to do a special plan for you, even if it’s just for the first month of the year.
Remember your blogger won’t necessarily know your industry or your business as well as you, but he or she will be able to offer some tips and advice.
Now is the best time to start planning ahead for 2016. Getting your 2016 blogging plan in motion will take some time, but just think of the time you’ll save in the future.
